A Crusade for Health and Beauty.

When his then five-year-old child developed leukemia, industry leader and visionary Gene Martignetti wasn’t about to stand by when traditional medicine didn’t help. "I became a parent looking for something to cure my son,” he says. On a mission that seemed impossible, he hit the books and tapped every source he could to learn about the effects of nutrition and dangerous chemicals on the body. His own heart trouble sealed the deal that changed his life for the better. He eliminated toxic chemicals from his family’s diet and began researching. His studies led him to places like the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota and The Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel as well as to numerous naturopaths, homeopaths and phytochemists.

Soon thereafter Gene realized that his best chance to make a significant difference was right under his nose. “I am not sure anybody cares about the salon and spa professional anymore. They’re directly exposed to large amounts of chemicals every day and are the largest group of asthma sufferers,” says Martignetti, citing a Health Magazine article. That information was the ticket he needed to launch his crusade – as he calls it – to introduce his products featuring alternatives to the questionable synthetics found in many popular brands – such as honey for natural shine and olive oil to soothe and soften the hair.

"My journey through the medical and beauty industries has been rewarding,” says Martignetti, whose current challenge is to work with salons and spas to raise their standards and awareness about the products they use and recommend. Simply Organic may be a better choice from an ingredient standpoint, but Martignetti knew that the products also had to work in order to convince stylists to make the switch. “We are a professional-only brand, and we believe that with the proper education, our products will outperform any product on the market today.”
