Plan for a Successful Holiday in Salon

The holidays are here and salon marketing should be at the top of your list. Did you know that sales in November and December represent 20% of annual retail sales each year? Take this time before the holiday rush and start planning for a successful holiday season.

Create a content calendar. This is a great tool to make sure you stay on track with promotions and reminders to clients. Other stylists on your team can also reference this for their own social media pages as well.

Highlight your holiday hours. Are you open later, closed on certain dates etc? Let your clients know the change in your schedule. This will allow them to make sure they are getting on your books or can even stop in the salon to grab last minute gifts for loved ones!

Show off your favorite clean beauty products. Adding product highlight posts to your social platforms will help educate your clients and possibly even spark gift ideas!

Take advantage of the up-sell. Make your salon scream “ happy holidays!” with an updated retail area. Create a few gift packages, or showcase stocking stuffers as an easy add-on for clients to grab at check out.

Promote your services. Holiday office parties, family photoshoots, and New Year’s Eve festivities will have clients needing extra hair and makeup services. Creating a promotion around special event services during this holiday season!

Utilize your email list. Creating a holiday promotions email reminding clients (past + present) of holiday specials on services and product packages. Don’t forget to remind them of your holiday hours and when they can stop in to grab a gift card (or 4)!

Give back. Partner with a local charity to raise awareness, supplies or money for the cause. Another option is to host a raffle for one of your favorite charities.

Salon marketing during the holidays is a great way to bring some holiday cheer into your salon space and also create more revenue. Use these tips to assist in planning creative ways to get clients in your salon (and chair) this season.
