Trending Hair Colors This Week (Sizzling Summer Edition)


Nothing shines brighter than the summer sun. Inspired by its natural aura of golds, reds, and coppers, we searched our #HolisticHairTribe community for some fiery do’s that will make the season even warmer!

Summer Hair Color Trends

Strawberry Peach Sorbet


Liven up your client’s red locks with this coppery balayage. By adding in some layers of warmth, you can spice up your clients hair while also maintaining an effortlessly natural look.

Base and pull through is Oway Hcolor 5.46 Red Coppery Light Brown Balayage and babylight with Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and  Oway Hcatalyst 30 Volume Cream Developer .

Allow the Oway Hcolor 5.46 Red Coppery Light Brown to run over the highlighted section to “tone” the lighter section.

Passionfruit Punch


Vintage rose seems to be everyone’s favorite color this time of year. With the right combination of pink hues, you can achieve this playful blend your clients will love.  

@zerahdantz formula:

I highlighted her with O&M Ammonia Free Keratin Blue Powder Lightener: O&M CØR.color 20 vol Activator. She had previous highlights too. Regrowth was a O&M CØR.color 4.1 Ash Brown O&M CØR.color 10 vol Activator.

Toned her with O&M CØR.color Pale Pink Toner O&M CØR.color 3.5 vol Activator.

Then Conditioned her with 40g Oway Hmilk No Stress Conditioning Treatment and 4 dropper fulls of Oway Hmelt Playful Rose.

Honey Lemon

Who doesn’t love a golden summer glow? Enhance your client’s color with a subtle change that will brighten up their overall look.

@hairenthusiast1284 formula:

I used Oway Hcolor 7.34 Golden Copper Blonde with 15 volume and Oway Hmilk No Stress Conditioning Treatment using a 1:1.5 ratio on her roots and mids, then I balayaged using the Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener with Oway Hcatalyst 20 Volume Cream Developer, lifted to a golden blonde, and toned with the 9.3 plus a ribbon of Oway Hcolor 0.3 Golden Booster/Tone Corrector with Oway Htone 9 Volume Cream Developer and Oway Hmilk No Stress Conditioning Treatment for super conditioning effects sooo shiny

Cotton Candy


Bold and beautiful. Show your client how they can make a statement by adding in a pop of color. Try out this formula to create the perfect balance of warm and cool tones. 

@hayliehair formula:

She came in with a level 2 base and level 4 faded ends. We lightened her with O&M Ammonia Free Pearl Blue Powder Lightener with 30/40 vol no heat. After rinsing and blow drying, I applied 20G O&M CØR.color 6.77 Dark Intense Brunette Blonde and 10G Oway Hcolor – 0.7 Purple Booster/Tone Corrector with 5G of Oway Hcolor 0.8 Blue Booster/Tone Corrector at the root and let process for 40 minutes with O&M CØR.color 20 vol Activator. I then took her to the bowl and lightly wet her base and pulled her color through to the ends and let her sit another 10 minutes! Then shampooed and condition as normal

Wild Black Cherry


The warm contrast against the dark hair brings just the right amount of flare. Check out this formula to recreate this fiery balayage.

She had natural level ¾ virgin hair. I painted her with O&M Paint Powder Clay Lightener and O&M CØR.color 40 vol Activator, let sit for about 40 minutes and then glossed with 40 g O&M CØR.color 66.46 Dark Red Intense Blonde & 20g O&M CØR.color 5.6 Light Violet Brown with 120g O&M CØR.color 5 vol Activator. Process for 20-25 minutes.

I used O&M Ammonia Free Pearl White Powder Lightener, combo of balayage and foilayage and isolated with foils, lifted her to a level 7-8-9 and then toned with:

12g O&M CØR.color 10.16 Lightest Ash Violet Blonde + 12g O&M CØR.color 9.8 Very Light Pearl Blonde + 4g O&M CØR.color 55.55 Light Red Intense Brown + O&M CØR.color 3.5 vol Activator
