Salon Business Tip: Don’t Rush

[This is the fourth part of the Consulting Spaces series. If you’d like, start from the beginning.]

When you in consultation with a client, be there. The consultation is a prime opportunity to make a connection with your client – the kind of connection the creates loyalty. It’s easy to rush the client along because you’re in a rush to do all those things that must be done yesterday, but don’t.

You may want to treat a consultation as a break for yourself. Maybe even take a couple deep breaths going into it. Then give your client your complete attention for fifteen minutes. That should be plenty of time for the majority of consultations. If the problem is more severe or the client apprehensive, then schedule more time.
