These 6 Holistic Hair Stylists are Helping Women Embrace Their Grey Hair

With more women opting for natural hair colors, it’s no surprise that many are starting to embrace their greys. Going grey is no longer something to fear; however, it is still a big decision to make. And as holistic hair stylists, it’s our job to help them ease into the transition.

Here are some ways our #HolisticHairTribe helped their clients love their natural grey hair.

“I helped my client go back to her “roots”. Natural is beautiful. And sometimes you realize how beautiful your hair really is, after you’ve been manipulating for so long that it seems easier just to continue doing it. I love helping my clients embrace their natural dimension. If of course they want to. Obviously my job is to help people reflect on the outside, what they feel on the inside. And with this client, she was ready to see her salt and pepper hair!

I had to clarify her hair first because she was using the powder on her hairline to try to cover up the grey that would come in!

I used Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener + 15 vol in foils + Oway Hcolor 4.1 Ash Brown + a dot of Oway Hcolor 1.8 Blue Black + 15 vol as her low light.

I followed her natural dimension so that her new growth would match the dimension I created!

I toned in the bowl with Oway Hcolor 11.17 Frosted Platinum/Oway Hcolor 90.11 Intense Ash Super Bleaching Blonde + 1 dot of  Oway Hcolor 1.8 Blue Black

And after 6 hours, she left with the biggest smile and a few tears of happiness.”

“Susan came in and said, “I want to embrace my grays.” I said, you mean your Salt-n-Pepper natural hair color? I can definitely do that but it would probably take more than one session…this is our first session.

Foilayage with Oway Hbleach Butter Cream Lightener and Oway Hcatalyst 30 Volume Cream Developer. Used 1oz Oway Hcolor 11.17 Frosted Platinum + 1oz Oway Hcolor 90.11 Intense Ash Super Bleaching Blond + 1g Oway Hcolor 0.1 Ash Booster/Tone Corrector+ 1g Oway Hcolor 0.8 Blue Booster/Tone Corrector + 2 1/2 oz of Oway Htone 9 Volume Cream Developer for 30 minutes at the bowl.”

“My client came in wanting to let her old color grow out and to embrace her natural salt and pepper. Today I did just that! I’m obsessed.

The gray that I used was 25 grams of Oway Hcolor 11.17 Frosted Platinum, 2 grams of Oway Hcolor 1.8 Blue Black, and 2 grams of Oway Hcolor 0.1 Ash Booster/Tone Corrector with Oway Htone 9 Volume Cream Developer.”

Kai’s client was ready to embrace her grey so he transformed her 20% grey to 70% grey.

O&M Ammonia Free Pearl Blue Powder Lightener O&M O&M CØR.color 30 vol Activator,

Glossed with 10g O&M CØR.color Ice Toner + 10g O&M CØR.color Silver Toner + 40g O&M CØR.color 5 vol Activator for 20min.

“I wanted to share part of a transformation journey of my one client. She wants to embrace her natural grey over the past few months.

Formula for the toner after highlighting was:

15g Oway Hcolor 9.1 Ash Very Light Blonde+15g Oway Hcolor 11.17 Frosted Platinum + 5g Oway Hcolor 0.1 Ash Booster/Tone Corrector + dot of Oway Hcolor 0.8 Blue Booster/Tone Corrector and sat for 7 minutes“

“Had an epic training session on toning hair yesterday. It was amazing. Today I created THIS (before and after). Not completely even but so pleased with the grey, helping my client embrace her natural locks. I had to tone twice.

First I used Oway Hcolor 11.17 Frosted Platinum with a jot of Oway Hcolor 0.8 Blue Booster and Oway Hcolor 0.1 Ash Booster. Whilst developing I coated the hair with a blue shampoo.

After this. there was still some level 8 copper tones so I spot covered those areas with Oway Hcolor 8.1 Ash Light Blonde + Oway Hcolor 0.8 Blue Booster/Tone Corrector + Oway Hcolor 0.1 Ash Booster/Tone Corrector

I used Oway Htone 9 Volume Cream Developer with both formulas.”
