At Simply Organic Beauty, we believe beauty is more than skin deep—it’s a reflection of purpose, strength, and authenticity. And few embody this truth more powerfully than the mothers within our Areté Ambassador Team.
These incredible women are stylists, educators, entrepreneurs, and caregivers. They’re showing up behind the chair, behind the scenes, and at home—balancing blow dryers with bedtime stories, formulating color palettes between school pickups, and building thriving careers while nurturing the next generation.
In celebration of Mother’s Day, we asked some of our Areté Ambassadors to share what motherhood means to them—and how they balance it all while staying grounded in their purpose and career.
Meet Shania
(@witchyhairvibes)
For Shania, motherhood means one powerful word: strength.
Becoming a mom didn’t just shift her priorities — it transformed her entire understanding of beauty. “I used to think beauty was about a look,” she shares, “but after kids, I realized that confidence in my own skin was more important to me than anything else.”
Her routine has evolved to reflect her reality: shorter, simpler, and more rooted in self-love than ever before. “I still love getting my hair done, but my makeup routine these days is quick and minimal — and that feels just right.”
As a stylist and a mom, Shania leads by example. Her children see her in her element, living out her purpose behind the chair, helping others feel beautiful from the inside out. “I want them to see the passion I have for helping others, and I want them to feel inspired to find their own.”
Shania’s story reminds us that beauty is not about fitting into a mold — it’s about embracing who you are and passing that strength on to those who look up to you most.
Meet Stephenie
(@stepheniepaintshair)
For Stephenie, motherhood begins and ends with strength.
It’s the kind of strength that shows up in the early mornings, the late-night shifts, and every little moment in between.
When asked what she hopes her daughters see when they watch her work, her answer is filled with purpose: “I hope they see happiness. Your work life doesn’t have to be torture—it’s what you make it. And when you love what you do and who you do it with, that’s when you’ve truly made it.”
Balancing beauty and motherhood means honoring her own needs, too. “I make sure to take a day off when they’re in school—just to breathe, catch up, or be a couch potato if that’s what I need,” she says. And when that time’s not available? “I’ve taught my girls how to give a great scalp massage—seriously!”
The hardest part? The reality of working evenings. “I’ve nailed down a pretty great schedule over time, but in this industry, some nights are just a must—even when they fall on activity nights.”
Still, Stephenie shows up—with presence, intention, and a fierce commitment to her family and her craft. Her story is a reminder that joy is a powerful legacy to pass on.
Meet Meg
(@texturedbymeg)
Motherhood transformed Meg’s view of beauty in ways she never expected.
“Before becoming a mom, I had all the time in the world to feel my best. After bringing my son home, that time disappeared,” she shares. “I remember looking in the mirror and not fully recognizing myself.”
The exhaustion was real — but so was the growth. Small moments of self-care, like a swipe of self-tanner or a quick blowout, became acts of reconnection.
“Motherhood taught me beauty isn’t about how others see me. It’s about how I see me — and loving the woman I’m becoming.”
Meg hopes her kids see more than just a stylist when they watch her work.
“I hope they see that little girl who used to cut her Barbie’s hair grew up to live her dream. That kindness, resilience, and purpose matter more than anything.”
After loss, Meg learned that grief and joy can coexist — and that showing up with love is enough.
“With one child in my arms and one in heaven, I carry that truth daily. I’m here to love deeply, show up fully, and remind others: you are enough, just as you are.”
Meet Alyssa
(@hairbyalyssanicole_)
For Alyssa, motherhood can be captured in a single, powerful word: love.
“No matter how tired, worn out, or frustrated you feel, the second they wrap their arms around you, your heart just explodes,” she shares.
Balancing beauty, business, and motherhood hasn’t always been easy — but it’s a journey she embraces with intention. “Balance is a work in progress. Some days are better than others, but I’ve learned to be really intentional with my time. Childhood goes by so quickly, and I want to live fully in each and every moment with them.”
The hardest part? Recognizing that goals—and the ability to chase them—shift depending on the season of life. “Achieving dreams means understanding what you’re willing to sacrifice right now,” she says.
When she needs a reminder that she’s enough, she looks no further than her children’s smiling faces. “They’re happy, fed, safe, and loved. That’s what matters.”
Her advice to other moms trying to juggle it all? “Take a step back and figure out what truly matters. Focus on what fuels your growth—and let go of anything else. It’s not about doing everything; it’s about doing what’s meaningful.”
Meet Teighla
(@teighlatechnique)
To Teighla, motherhood means one thing above all else: unconditional love.
“It’s a type of love that’s hard to describe — kids don’t have conditions. I love them with all of my being. It changed me from day one,” she shares.
Becoming a mother transformed her view of beauty, too. “Beauty is in the little things—the laughter, the messy house, the feeling of togetherness. It’s not about how things look, but about the life we’re building.”
One of the greatest lessons her children have taught her is to be present. “Kids don’t care about your to-do list — they just want your time and your attention. That constant reminder helps me ground myself, even when life feels overwhelming.”
When Teighla’s kids watch her at work, she hopes they see more than just a career. “I hope they see someone who loves what she does — and that it’s okay to chase dreams, take up space, and evolve.”
Balance, for Teighla, doesn’t mean everything is perfectly even. “Most days it’s squeezing in early morning clients before running to a baseball game or answering messages between dance drop-offs. It’s messy and full, but I’ve learned to focus on what matters most and give myself grace when the day doesn’t go perfectly.”
Her advice to other moms trying to juggle it all? “You don’t have to. You’re allowed to ask for help, take breaks, and simply say no. Doing your best is enough — and sometimes that means letting go of ‘doing it all.”
And to the incredible mothers in our community—
You are the heart of who we are. Living proof that you can honor your artistry, nurture your family, and still make space for growth.
Your passion, resilience, and commitment—to your little ones and your clients—remind us that true beauty lives in how we show up. For ourselves, our craft, and our communities.
We’re lucky to have such incredible artists represent our brands with strength, grace, and unwavering purpose. You’re not just balancing it all—you’re redefining what’s possible for stylists and mothers everywhere.
Happy Mother’s Day.
We see you. We celebrate you. And we’re so grateful to walk this journey with you.
